Time to start final assembly

Last night I completed the battery mounts, work the the Arduino program, and started some of the final wiring.

I picked up the rest of the body parts today, the picture below shows some of them and how Radic is taking shape. I will be doing lots of assembly tonight.

Radic progress pictures

Here are some more pictures of Radic during assembly. I am glad that the parts we cut worked without any revision changes. So far... :)

Radic - The beginning

Hello,

I work for Radan, we are a software company the develops CAD/CAM software for the sheet metal manufacturing industry. (www.radan.com)

A few months ago we wanted to come up with a cool assembly that we could use to demonstrate what our software can do and Radic was born. The initial plan was to make Radic so that it would sit on a podium at our trade shows to get attention from the people walking by our booth but as ideas starting flowing we decided to also make a version that has some animation.

Before I started doing research to animate Radic I had only had experience with RC cars, learning how to build something from scratch that moved was a new experience. The pictures below are the initial concepts.

I will add the progress that we have made over the past few months. I wouldn't have been able to do this without the help of Boian Mitov and his Visuino software (www.visuino.com) and B&N Sheet Metal (bnsheetmetal.com)  for cutting the metal components for us.

Here are some of the sites that I have purchased parts from and used for research;
